Inc. Magazine recently published its annual list of the fastest-growing companies in the United States and this year, 16 of the businesses being honored operate in Delaware.
To be considered for inclusion on the list, companies had to have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2009. They also had to be based in the United States, privately held and independently owned and operated. Subsidiaries and divisions of larger firms were excluded.
Among the Delaware companies recognized by Inc. were IT services firms, consultancies, logistics providers and a variety of other types of businesses. The wide range of sectors represented by these growing companies is indicative of Delaware's status as one of the best places in the country to form a limited liability company or any other type of corporation.
With a modern and flexible set of corporate laws underpinned by a stable judicial system and a state government that sees supporting its taxpayers and job creators as a key mission, Delaware offers an ideal "climate" in which to grow a business. That's why more than 60 percent of the companies in the Fortune 500 have made the First State their legal home.
Inc. Magazine will be holding an awards ceremony and networking conference for its honorees in Washington, D.C. in early October. Aspiring entrepreneurs who may hope to someday attend such an event should contact a Delaware incorporation services company today to learn more about the benefits of incorporating in Delaware and take the first steps toward a successful future.
